FAQ

How much time per week should I expect to spend on The Artist's Way? This ain’t your first rodeo, ;) You get to adapt your commitment to fit your life. Here’s what Julia recommends:

  • Daily Morning Pages: Spend ~20 minutes each day journaling to clear your mind and listen inward.
  • Weekly Artist Date: Dedicate 1+ hour to nurturing your inner artist through a solo, fun, and inspiring activity. (Again, you design and commit to what feels workable for your life.)
  • Attend the Monthly Creative Recovery Circle: Includes 1.5 hours of creative recovery circle reflection and sharing.
  • Review Monthly Email Summaries: These highlight key concepts from each chapter to keep you on track.
  • Attend the weekly coworking sessions: These Atmosphere spaces after sacred space to attend to creative recovery no matter how life-y the week has been- offered on the weeks we do NOT have Circle, so that we keep ourselves tuned into creative recovery work.

By prioritizing these activities, you’ll fully engage with the program. Additional tasks and exercises are optional, but we’ll provide suggestions to help you dive deeper. Estimated weekly time commitment: ~3–4 hours. However, the program is flexible, and you can adjust the time to fit your schedule.

What if I can’t attend the live circle? Will it be recorded? Yes! All Monthly Circles are recorded, so you can catch up on your own schedule. You can also:

  • Block time on your calendar to watch recordings.
  • Use the online platform to share your check-ins, ask questions, and interact with the group at your convenience.

What is the structure of the program? The program runs for 12 months and follows the structure of The Artist’s Way book expanding each week across an entire month. Each month, you’ll:

  • Read one chapter.
  • Complete exercises and tasks associated with that chapter.
  • Attend a live creative recovery circle (or watch the recording).
  • Attend weekly Atmosphere sessions for co-working and brief check-ins. (optional)
  • Engage with the online community for additional support. (optional)

How is this program different from the weekly program? The Year-Long Program offers a slower pace with more time to explore and integrate the material that you are already familiar with from the first time you did the Artist’s Way.

The 16-week program, by contrast, is a more focused and intensive approach, designed to guide participants through all 12 weeks of The Artist’s Way with extra accountability and support.

Is there ongoing support outside of the monthly circles? Yes! These offers ensure you’re supported throughout your journey, even between live meetings.

  • Share Your Progress: Celebrate wins and share your creative journey in the online community
  • Atmosphere  Sessions: Join focused, collaborative sessions to work on your creative practices in real time with the group.

You might also elect the Group Creativity Coaching package with Elizabeth, where you’ll benefit from tailored advice and guidance to overcome creative blocks.

Where does this happen and in what time zone? Zoom, Mexico City Time- no time change. Time is always relative to Oaxaca, MX. US members will change with daylight savings time change. This schedule is UTC -6.

Are there payment plans available? Yes! Please reach out to Elizabeth at [email protected] to establish a payment plan in bi-monthly, quarterly, or 6 month installments. Pricing: 1 year $396 (billed $198 every 6 months or $99 quarterly or $66 every 2 months)

Alysa Escobar

Alysa is a seasoned performance artist and theater educator. She is an advocate of creative growth and for over three years has been a facilitator for creative clusters working through The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. With degrees in Theater Education, and Mental Health Counseling, she brings a unique blend of artistic insight and emotional guidance to her role as co-facilitator.

The Artist's Way has been an empowering experience for her, and she hopes to share it with others who feel disconnected from what they would like to be creating. Alysa is grateful to The Artist's Way process as it has helped her overcome creative obstacles that had kept her from a long time dream of writing a biographical show. This journey led her to create an original musical "Beautiful Broken Piece." With a passion for fostering creativity's intersection with mental well-being, Alysa’s intention is to inspire and guide fellow recovering artists on their path to artistic fulfillment.
